We are looking for a talented and experienced Powertrain Director to lead the powertrain efforts within Stark Future. As a Powertrain Director, you will be responsible for driving the growth of Stark Future’s powertrain business by building a team of the best software and hardware electronics engineers in the world.

Stark Future’s mission is to lead the way towards a sustainable motorcycle industry, by reducing plastic and CO2 pollution.

This will be achieved by building sustainable products that are superior to traditional technology in terms of Performance, Emotion and Design.

You will lead our team in Barcelona, as well as leading and collaborating with our resources in Stark Electronics in Zagreb, Croatia.

Main responsibilities

• Develop electric powertrains with the highest power density & efficiency in the      world

• Build the most capable team in order to achieve above target

• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners
• Identify new business opportunities and develop plans to capture them
• Manage a team, providing coaching and guidance to help them meet their targets

• Collaborate with the rest of the Stark Engineering & sourcing team to integrate this in the best possible way

• Innovate and inspire within in the Stark organization

Qualifications

• Mechatronics/Electronics or Electrical Engineering Degree (BS, MS preferred)
• Great analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Great leadership skills and experience.
• Experience of developing electric powertrains for vehicles
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams & also independently with minimal supervision.
• You have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with.
• Constantly looking for ways to improve your products' performance, quality, and cost.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, fluent English is a must.

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in developing and bringing to market complex power electronics systems.
• Deep knowledge in power electronics, inverters, power conversion and motor control systems.
• Experience of working or managing teams within high power DC/AC inverters with high voltages.
• Experience of working or managing teams within experience in DSP, FPGA, and/or microcontrollers.
• Experience in leading simulation teams/models to find correlation with built products.
• Experience with firmware / software development teams.
• Experience with high density circuits, impedance control, components in double sided boards and multiple-layer PCB design and fabrication.
• Good understanding and extremely comfortable designing analog & digital circuits, selecting components for mass production and all stages of circuit design.
• Experience in managing tolerance chains, failure analysis, component validation, etc.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing & in-line PCB & PCBA testing.
• Hands-on experience in electrical testing and verification (strong skills in test equipment usage: oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering, etc ).
• Knowledge and experience designing high power density and managing heat dissipation.
• Deep knowledge of EMC & RED testing.
• Deep knowledge of functional safety standards.
• Experience with design to meet EMI requirements.
• Experience with Bluetooth LE, CAN bus, Wi-Fi, SPI, i2C, etc.
